Today visitors can see in the museum:

• Hans Fallada’s study with lots of original exhibits
• kitchen, dining room, porch
• exhibtion “Hans Fallada as a children’s author”
• extensive exhibition of photos and first editions
• multimedia centre on the upper floor
• various exhibitions of Fallada topics on the upper floor
• the farm and the gardens by the lakeside
• the originally restored boathouse
• the large auditorium in the barn with special exhibitions

Important events in the Hans-Fallada-Museum

  • Carwitz Reading Club: from mid May to mid September every Friday, 8 pm, in the large auditorium of the barn on the estate
  • The annual Hans-Fallada-Days in July
  • Special exhibitions in the large auditorium (during the main season April to October):
    - 2006: Elizabeth Shaw – children’s books
    - 2007: With Hatred and Love – in the opinion of the Weltbühne
    - 2008: The Buddenbrooks
    - 2009: People are Animals Using Words. Erich Ahrendt – life and work
    - 2010: What kind of fellow! Heinrich von Kleist in the Third Reich
